Twelve ("Twelve," "we," "us") is made by Sorcel Tech. This policy explains what information the Twelve app collects, how it's used, and the choices you have. Twelve is built local-first: your goals, notes, and progress are stored on your device, not on our servers. The one exception is the optional AI-suggestion feature described below, which you have to actively tap to use.
What stays on your device. Everything you enter into Twelve, goal titles, lead and lag indicators, weekly reflections, notes, and progress numbers, is stored locally on your device in an on-device database. We do not upload it, and we cannot read it. If you don't back it up yourself, uninstalling Twelve deletes it permanently.
AI-generated suggestions (optional). When setting up a goal, you can tap a "Suggest" button to get AI-generated ideas for weekly actions or ways to measure your result. Doing so sends your goal title and, where relevant, the result metric's name and unit, to Google's Gemini AI model through Firebase AI Logic, so it can generate suggestions. This only happens when you tap that button; nothing is sent automatically or in the background. This feature is unavailable when your device is offline, and using it requires an internet connection at that moment. Google's handling of this data is governed by its own privacy policy.
Anonymous usage analytics. We use PostHog, and Firebase Analytics (Google), to understand how the app is used in aggregate, for example, which features get opened, or that a weekly review was completed. These events never include what you typed: no goal titles, no note text, no reflection content. We collect counts and interactions, not your words.
Subscription information. Twelve Pro is sold as an auto-renewing subscription through the Apple App Store (and Google Play, where available), processed via RevenueCat. We receive your subscription status (active, expired, refunded) so the app can unlock Pro features. We never see or store your card details; Apple and Google handle payment directly.
Device permissions. If you enable reminders, Twelve schedules local notifications on your device through the operating system. If you add the home screen widget, it reads your current cycle's progress to display it. This stays on-device as well.
We do not sell your information, and we do not use it for advertising.
Twelve relies on a small number of third-party services to operate:
Each operates under its own privacy policy, which governs any data it processes on our behalf.
Your on-device data is retained for as long as Twelve is installed. You can export a backup from within the app, and you can permanently remove all local data at any time by deleting the app. We retain aggregate, anonymous analytics data separately from any individual device; because it isn't tied to your identity, we can't look up or delete a specific person's events on request.
Twelve is not directed at children under 13, and we do not knowingly collect information from children under 13.
If we make material changes to this policy, we'll update the date at the top of this page and, where appropriate, notify you in the app.
